It seems that whenever I use any of the newer versions (0.8.x) I get the EBIOS read error as soon as I boot from the USB stick. I got my 10.6 bootable flash drive back out and booted from it with 0.8.4, and low and behold, 10.6 began the installation process!!! What might flattening the battery while in Sleep mode have messed up? I just turn it off when I boot and turn it back on after it boots up.
