Really want to solve this issue! Make sure that you are using the correct version of the installer. I re-made my install drive twice, and even tried to boot from the installcd per mechdrews instructions. Make sure you have working Sound and Network.
Maybe your Mini is not seeing the 16gb OSX thumb drive. If you continue to have problems, I would suggest posting a new topic with a question about your current problem. How do I fix it?? Specifically by its memory card reader. Again, use USB 2 port as when launched from USB 3 setup hangs. There are lots and lots of messages to look through but believe me you are NOT the only one who has stumbled.
