Help really appreciated! Is overwriting GRUB with windows boot loader the only way to fix this? Then rebooted.When it fired up, it gave the "Grub 1.5" "Grub Error 21". I recommend you to install grub2 though, because it handles these situations better.

As you suggest, it may worth trying the other variations of SliTaz to see if the drive is recognized, if not then perhaps a shout out to their community or a tried to fixmbr etc noting works. I don't know if I entered the first one correctly. why not start asking whether we need to install after boot from the ISO file?
