I think the problem is that I need the ability to pass a Microsoft domain as well as the Microsoft username and password to the proxy to do the authentication. For authentication, I tried all the tips and tricks mentioned in this thread, but couldnt get through. It does not support basic authentication, so ntlmaps fixes that problem.
