That file system itself limits the size of the files on it. As I stated, this drive has been formatted for the Mac, so I don't understand why it's (apparently) running into a problem peculiar to FAT32-formatted drives. Formatting can be a bit of a pain. It would appear that it is FAT32 based on the description, but if it works on a PC, then it can't be a FAT32 drive. This disk is 1.82 TB is size. Mac OS Extended 3. btw i tried doing that on a windows with the same drives and it worked perfectly!

If you really can't reformat the drive at all, then you'll need to split the files.
