You may get a better answer to your question by starting a new discussion. It's just that I lose a tape drive in the rotation each night due toa media error, whick screws up the whole order of things. Once a backup fails, I can't use the tape again, even if it's a brand new one.In May of this year I went so far as to completely replace the drive, It was simply a strange coincidence that these errors all occurred on subsequent full backups.

In the log files I am getting the following errors E6300 - Windows NT SCSI PORT Error E6096 - Media ErrorBarcode: conflicts with Internal Serial Number: in database. eject tape) I get an error and more Event ID 15 are written to the System Event Log.If I reboot the server the issue persists. He seems to think that this is the problem, but you should not have to do a 2 hour erase on a brand new tape. Overland has worked with me through all the possiblities, even exchanging 3 new libraries.
